OVERVIEW
With its athletes throwing down tricks in the halfpipe and grabbing big air on the slopestyle course, snowboarding has cemented its place as the Olympics most action-packed sport. Major snowboarding events also include the Winter X Games and FIS World Cup tours in several different disciplines. Snowboarders are constantly innovating to create never-before-seen tricks and techniques, meaning that the sport is in a constant state of evolution. The sport consists of four primary events: halfpipe, slopestyle, snowboard cross and parallel giant slalom.
